    International Symposium on Frontiers of Speech and Music (FRSM), jointly organized by KIIT College of Engineering, Gurgaon  & ITC-SRA, KOLKATA will take place on 18-19 January 2012.

    The primary goal of this symposium is to address the main issues of theoretical, generic and applied areas of Speech, Music and Allied signal processing, with special themes “Multilingual and Multimedia Technologies for Smart Communication including Cognition of Music Speech and Language” & “Cognition of Music and Speech including Language” which are the key areas of interdisciplinary research to encourage academic and industrial interaction, and promote collaborative research activities.

    The symposium invites the researchers and academicians to participate and contribute papers to the international forum for the dissemination and exchange of up-to-date information. Eminent scientists/ researchers from different countries will be delivering lectures on state of the art technologies.

    As a satellite event, the first CompMusic workshop on “Computational Modeling for Music Information Research” chaired by Prof. Xavier Serra of the Music Technology Group, University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona will be held on 20th January 2012.

About MIReS

MIReS was an EU FP7-funded 18-month project focusing on the future impact of music technology research on academia and industry. The project created a Roadmap for Music Information ReSearch, by expanding the context of the field of Music Information Retrieval and addressing challenges such as multimodal information, multiculturalism and multidisciplinarity.
