Two-day sessions starting on 8 November 2012 will focuse on finalising the Roadmap State of the Art after annual review meeting in Luxemberg and further works on MIReS grand challenges including recently received feedback at ISMIR 2012 special sessions. The workshop is organised by IRCAM, Paris.

The Second International ACM Workshop on Music Information Retrieval with User-Centered and Multimodal Strategies (MIRUM), held on November 2, 2012 in conjunction with ACM Multimedia 2012 in Nara, Japan, provides a platform at a premier multimedia venue for discussing open challenges and presenting state-of-the art work on music information retrieval adopting user-centered and multimodal strategies.

The 13th International Society for Music Information Retrieval Conference will take place in Porto, Portugal, October 8-12, 2012. It is organised by INESC TEC, in partnership with the TNSJ in Porto.

CompMusic (Computational Models for Music Information Research) is a research project funded by the European Research Council and coordinated by Xavier Serra from the Music Technology Group of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain). It aims to advance in the automatic description of music, reducing the gap between audio signal features and semantically meaningful music concepts by taking a culture-specific perspective.

The 19th Barcelona's International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art will be held on June 14-16, 2012. It takes place at various venues in Barcelona in the third week of June since 1994.

"MIR and Creation" workshop is being organised within the scopes of Manifeste 2012, an international festival and multidisciplinary academy taking place at IRCAM, Paris between 1 June – 1 July 2012.

The workshop is organised by the project coordinator: Music Technology Group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

The 37th IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP) will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto, Japan, on March 25-30, 2012.

The ICASSP meeting is the world's largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused on signal processing and its applications. The conference will feature world-class speakers, tutorials, exhibits, and over 50 lecture and poster sessions.

The MIReS project consortium will meet for a two-day workshop on the MIR meta-analysis and MIReS roadmap writing, including progress reports on Work Packages.
The workshop, kindly hosted by Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Vienna, starts on 2 February 2012.
